Learning All About Golf
Whether you are new to golf or have a single digit handicap, everyone is in need of finding a place where all questions relating to golf can be found. As an amateur golfer for the past six years, I am constantly in search of the “Magic” product, advice or aide that will improve my game. When I need to learn how to prevent my drive shot from slicing and can find hundreds of websites, dozens of training aides, offers for personal lessons and a slew of other ideas that are intended to solve my slicing problem. Unfortunately there is no way to determine which ones actually work and which ones are designed to take your money and leave you with the same problem (or maybe worse). The same is true for putting, chipping, iron shots, bunker shots, training aides and just about everything golf related. After spending too much money and too much time trying to find exactly what I needed I realized something that probably other golfers have realized as well. I realized that it would be great to know where to go when I had a question about anything golf related. I’m not talking about one of those forum sites where other golfers (that may play worse then me) offer their opinions and answers to questions asked on that forum. These forums only seem to be effective if they are operated and monitored by a sanctioned golf professional with proven credentials. Unfortunately, any golf professional worth listening to is most likely on the course teaching other and making a lot of money. The kind of site I am talking about will consist of four major areas: 1. Articles about the game and playing tips with specific examples. 2. Recent news about what’s going on in the golf world so I can keep up with my favorite players or tournaments. 3. Current offers for products and training aides to improve my game. 4. The ability to contact some one with any specific questions I may have. Each specific area will provide me with the information that I need (and want) to know. The site will be ever evolving and provide me with current events and valuable information. It will provide me with the one place I need to go to get the latest information about the world of golf. Now I am not naive enough to think that one website can be so comprehensive to provide all the answers to the millions of searches performed each month on the game of golf. I do believe however that this one “Authority” site will include links to other areas of the game that would be more specific such as “Golf Equipment”, Golf Courses”, “Golf Lessons” and “Golf Vacations” where I can jump to when I need to know more about these areas of the golf game. The author of this article is a contributor of a golf authority website that tries to achieve all of the above.
